Message from PTA

If you need a last minute gift purchase, PTA has five (5) Lehigh
Valley Kidstuff books, yet. If you send the money in by Wednesday, the
book(s) will come home with your child Thursday or Friday! Books are
only $25 for A LOT of great coupons, and money made for a lot of great
school programs!

Moore Elementary School has several events coming up in the next couple of weeks. Here is a brief look at what is happening in our school...

December 15th - PTA Holiday Party (9am-11am in APR)
December 17th - Moore Spirit Day (please wear your new Moore Pride shirt)
December 17th - Holiday Chorus/Band Concert (7pm in Gym)
December 18th - Holiday Chorus/Orchestra Concert (7pm in Gym)

December 24th - January 1st- Holiday Break...Offices/Building Closed

January 2nd - School Reopens

      b)  L.V. Zoo, DaVinci Center, and Franklin Institute coming in for variouis grade programs.

      c)  In March we are sponsored a mobile agriculture lab

     d)  Local author going to come in the spring, giving out books and older grades will do a canvas illustration

     e)  Mr. Bendekovits is going to be contacted about providing the school with facetime workshops/instructions for the grades.

            1.  Thank you  to parents helping ouit with the bookfair.. 

                  2.  Thank you to Rachel and volunteers for the Veteran's Day celebration.

3.  SWPBS program will be held Demeber 17th

n Superintendent Report,    Mr. Kovalchik

           1.  Moore achieved AYP in both math and reading

2.  Believes curriculum and technology go hand in hand

     a)  Sapphire computer program for parents

     b)  Electronic Report Cards

3.  Eventually would like to have entire district using Chrome Books

     a)  Goal now is 30-60 Chromes for each grade level

                  4.  SWPBS

                       a)  Changing in-school suspension to more of an academic suspension focus

                  5.  Changes

       a)  Looking to reduce credits to graduate from 26 to 24.

       b)  Reducing study halls

       c)  More cyber options

6.  Middle School

       a)  $88 million budget

       b)  Not to exceed $80million

       c)  New field house, most likely a swimming pool, robotics room, open courtyard concept in center, STEM (science, technology, enginneering, math), virtual room (can speak with astronauts-facetime)

       d)  Possible addtition of turf fields as well and a new softball field

       e)  Curriculum is changing to common core

       f)  Bids start in January, late March/April, Construction begins

       g)  September 2015 Opening

       h)  2015/16 Old middle school demolished

Community Presentation - Proposed Middle School

On Thursday night (Dec. 6th), the Northampton Area School District will provide a community presentation on the proposed Middle School (new).  The presentation will be at 6:00pm in the High School Auditorium.
